Etihad Arrivals Lounge, Abu Dhabi

Introduction

Etihad Airways operates their hub from the city of Abu Dhabi in UAE. They have an Arrivals lounge at Abu Dhabi for Business & First Class passengers who are entering the city. Let’s have a look.

Location

The lounge is located after the baggage claim area and just before the exit. There are plenty of signboards throughout to guide you to the lounge area. The lounge always has some crowd as all incoming premium passengers wait in this area for their chauffeur. All revenue tickets on Business & First are eligible for a drop in the city. Even if you have not pre-booked it, the staff should take care of it. We were traveling in First Class but on an award ticket and hence could not use the chauffeur service.

The Lounge

Seating Area

The lounge has a seating capacity of around 30 passengers. There are showers, a small computer workstation and some snacks in the lounge. Staff was attentive and very helpful. I loved the Arabic coffee with dates.

The lounge is conveniently located and you hardly need to walk 20 metres to the exit gate and the chauffeurs are right there. It cannot get more convenient than this. The staff is watchful and ensures that passengers are made aware as soon as their chauffeurs arrive.

The arrivals lounge does not have full fledged dining but has plenty of snacks and small bites. We were quite happy to see a few vegetarian options as well. If you are a bit hungry in case you slept off and missed your last meal, this is a great place to recharge a bit.

The food was tasty and fresh. I had overslept and had a mini breakfast here. The desserts looked really appealing but were a bit too sweet. The variety of food on offer was pretty good considering this is an arrival lounge.

Overall Impressions

This is one of the better arrival lounges we have used in recent times. The service was quick and efficient and staff friendly. Though the lounge is not very large, the rush does not really accumulate and this is more of a pit stop for passengers waiting for their chauffeurs. The food and drinks on offer were good and tasty. Overall a good experience.
