Marriott Offering Two Award Nights on Two Stays
Marriott has been in the news a lot lately for all the wrong reasons. They seem to be having a really hard time in their integration of SPG / Marriott / Ritz Carlton. Their new program called Bonvoy is at the risk of making a transition from a Noun to a Verb “Bonvoyed” (representing all issues faced in dealing with Marriott)
They have been definitely trying to clean up their act and are currently running multiple promotions. New members are being offered a free award night worth 25,000 points (Category 4 award) on completing two paid stays till July 2019 (Details Here). We did not waste much time and easily earned our award night within a month of enrollment (Luckily my spouse was not enrolled in Marriott till now)
We were pleasantly surprised to see that Marriott sent us a follow up promotion offering two free award nights on completing two stays again. This is a targeted promotion (I did not get it but my spouse did) and is probably being offered to new users who signed up and recently stayed with Marriott.

- Stay = Consecutive nights spent at same hotel regardless of check in/out activity

Is it worth it ?
Despite all the noise around Marriott, we have had some great experiences with them. If the first promotion was great, this one offers outstanding value. You simply need to stay at two properties for a night each and you end up earning 2 nights at a category 5 property. We are not really sure how long this promotion is going to last but I would have seriously considered opening up a new Marriott account (if I did not have one already) and registering for the first promo mentioned above to be eligible for this one. It is a steal. Period.
Value for money ?
If you have travel plans until May 2019, this is too good of an opportunity to miss. Going to a city with two Marriott Properties ? Split the stay and earn it in one visit. No visit planned? I’d say plan one. For example, someone staying in Mumbai could go on a weekend to Pune and stay for 2 nights at two different properties and earn the 2 reward nights. It would cost you anywhere between INR 10-20,000 for completing two paid stays in Pune. Just remember to book directly with Marriott. Those could be redeemed for

We plan to triple dip on this promotion by using the following strategy
- Register for Marriott Double Take Promotion (Open to All) – You earn double points on your second stay. Stay in a more expensive property on the second stay if possible
- Using Breakfast Hotel Deals – Use Promo Code “S4B” while booking hotels to get free breakfast for 2. Not all hotels are offering this but you can still get lucky.
- Using Weekend Promotions – The two hotels we booked came with Free Spa & Entry to the night club along with INR 1,500 of Hotel Credits.
Bottom Line
This is another great promotion by Marriott and you should count yourself really lucky if you have received this promotion. This is a promotion worth making a plan for given the outstanding value on offer. How do you plan to earn your free award nights and where do you plan to redeem them ?
